Space Imaging Middle East at Map Middle East 2008

on .

Space Imaging Middle East (SIME) exhibited at the 4th annual Map Middle East exhibition and conference which took place in April, 2008 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

SIME made a strong presence at the exhibition, sharing a stand with its partners, the UAESpaceReconnaissanceCenter, as well as supporting GeoEye on their stand in the exhibition.

SIME set up multiple interactive workstations to demonstrate GeoBrowser, its internally developed map viewing application, which garnered a lot of interest from attendees due to its customizability, speed, and portability.

There were also various imagery displays set up on both the SIME and SIME-GeoEye booths illustrating the varied applications of high-resolution imagery in the fields of mapping, photogrammetry, and GIS services.

SIME and GeoEye also took this opportunity to introduce GeoEye-1, the world’s highest resolution commercial imaging satellite, to the Middle East market. Expected to launch by the end of the year, GeoEye-1 is expected to simultaneously acquire 0.41-meter panchromatic and 1.65-meter multispectral imagery, thus offering an unprecedented spatial resolution for use in commercial applications.
